ContiTech Expands Offering Of CONTI-V Multi-rib Elast Belts

Feedback from customers prompts additional options, says company.

CLEVELAND – As a result of feedback the company received from customers at the recent 2009 AAPEX Trade Show in Las Vegas, ContiTech’s Power Transmission Group is now offering its popular CONTI-V Multi-rib Elast belts separately without the kit.

“However, to ensure that the belts still can be installed properly without purchasing the entire kit, ContiTech will launch a new universal tool for the installation of elastic multiple V-ribbed belts in the spring of 2010,” said Markus Pirsch, head of the ContiTech Power Transmission Group’s marketing service.

“With a disposable tool, the kit remains a popular option, but several key customers wanted to buy the belt alone, so we listened and accommodated them,” added Roger Homer, ContiTech’s North American business development director.

CONTI-V Multi-rib Elast belts no longer need a belt tensioner because they do the job themselves. Whenever fixed center distances are available on drives in the lower and mid-output ranges, elastic V-ribbed belts are ideal solutions for non-positive drives. They can be mounted with a fixed center distance and maintain their tension level – without needing an additional tensioner.
