Champion Laboratories Announces Recipient of 2009 National FFA Organization Scholarship

The recipient of this year's Champion Laboratories/Luber-finer National FFA scholarship is Emily Hatfield, who recently graduated from Wayne City High School and will continue her education in agricultural studies at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill.

ALBION, Ill. – Champion Laboratories has once again funded a $1,000 continuing-education scholarship through its Luber-finer Heavy-Duty Filter brand. The scholarship is administered by the National FFA Foundation, based in Indianapolis, Ind., which is dedicated to making a positive influence in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

The recipient of this year’s Champion Laboratories/Luber-finer National FFA scholarship is Emily Hatfield, who recently graduated from Wayne City High School and will continue her education in agricultural studies at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill. Hatfield qualified for the scholarship as a high school graduate seeking a four-year degree in agricultural communications, agricultural business management or agricultural sales and marketing who resides in the counties of Edwards, Wayne or White in Illinois, or York County in South Carolina, all areas where Champion Laboratories facilities are located.

In 2009, more than 7,800 students across the country took part in the National FFA Organization’s Collegiate Scholarship Program and approximately 1,800 of those students received a total of more than $2.2 million in scholarship money.
