Automotive Parts Associates Establishes a Strategic Alliance with IMC

This program, which was tailored to the APA members, will include many special benefits, such as electronic cataloging in Activant and Wrenchead, counterman training, dealer sales calls and inventory management.

LENEXA, Kan. — Automotive Parts Associates (APA) and Interamerican Motor Corp. (IMC) have developed a single source purchasing program of auto parts for foreign brand nameplate vehicles. This program was designed to keep APA shareholders competitive and grow the import portion of their wholesale and retail businesses.

This program, which was tailored to the APA members, will include many special benefits, such as electronic cataloging in Activant and WHI, counterman training, dealer sales calls and inventory management. This program is in addition to APA’s broad-based offering of direct purchase manufacturers programs.

With more than 60,000 part numbers for German, Swedish, British, Asian and domestic cars, IMC has relationships with more than 2,500 suppliers from more than 40 countries and can source parts from OEM manufacturers as well as the highest quality aftermarket suppliers.

“We’re proud to enter into this alliance with IMC. It should level the playing field for our shareholders in today’s very competitive marketplace,” said Dan Freeman, president and CEO of Automotive Parts Associates Inc.

Switch EV Trainer Provides Tailored EV Tech Training

The latest forecasts from global technology intelligence firm ABI Research found that global EV sales are expected to grow by 21% in 2024 and 19% in 2025. This represents a significant decline from growth rates of 31% in 2023 and 60% in 2022, ABI Research said.

“A shortage of chargers and limited ranges are not to blame for this decline. It’s evident from sales data and statements by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that the EV market is slowing down and failing to meet its targets,” Dylan Khoo, an electric vehicles industry analyst, said. “While insufficient charging infrastructure and range limitations are often cited as reasons for this slowdown, they don’t fully explain the stagnation, especially considering that these aspects are actually improving rather than deteriorating. Additionally, these explanations fail to consider the region-specific trends driving the EV sector changes.”
