Tenneco Automotive’s Walker Brand Launches Program to Boost Shops’ Exhaust Margins

Tenneco Automotive, manufacturer and marketer of Walker exhaust products, has launched a new product marketing and merchandising initiative designed to help shops recapture lost margins. At the heart of the program is an all-new Walker premium replacement muffler - the Quiet-Flow3 - which the company says delivers the precise sound, fit and guaranteed durability that is preferred by owners of late-model domestic and import vehicles.

JACKSON, MI — Tenneco Automotive, manufacturer and marketer of Walker exhaust products, has launched a new product marketing and merchandising initiative designed to help shops recapture lost margins.

At the heart of the program is an all-new Walker premium replacement muffler – the Quiet-Flow3 – which the company says delivers the precise sound, fit and guaranteed durability that is preferred by owners of late-model domestic and import vehicles.

Available through Walker distributors across North America, the Quiet-Flow3 premium muffler features a new internal CF Technology coating designed to resist rust-through. This feature — combined with Walker’s guaranteed premium sound and precision fit — represents a powerful new selling platform for service shops seeking to increase margins while maximizing customer satisfaction and loyalty, says Tenneco.

“Quiet-Flow3 gets its name from the three key differentiators that compel consumers to invest in premium performance,” said Terry Heffelfinger, director of marketing-exhaust for Tenneco Automotive. “Selling up a customer to premium is a fast, easy process when you can demonstrate tangible benefits like OE-type sound characteristics, exceptional fit and extended service life.”

Muffler sound is especially important because it’s the characteristic most obvious to the vehicle owner, Heffelfinger added. “Most consumers have a strong preference for what their vehicle should sound like after the repair. If the technician explains that a premium product can deliver an OE-type sound, there’s a much greater likelihood of moving them up to the better technology.”

The Walker marketing team has developed point-of-purchase for the QuietFlow3 program.
