RALEIGH, NC — Automotive replacement parts distributor General Parts Inc. has announced a merger with Automotive Communications Link Inc., a provider of business management software for automotive repair professionals. Automotive Communications Link does business under the name “AutoComLink.”

Through the merger, General Parts will offer AutoComLink products, which include an Internet-based auto parts ordering application (EZ2LINK), a repair estimator system (EZ2Estimate) and a business and inventory management system for automotive repair facilities (POWERLINK).

Chandler Ellis, vice president of information technology for General Parts, said the addition of AutoComLink products to CARQUEST TechLink will enhance CARQUEST’s technology position as the leader in the industry. “The flexibility provided by the addition of AutoComLink applications will permit each professional repair facility to select the right combination of CARQUEST Techlink applications to seamlessly integrate with their own business management system,” said Ellis.

AutoComLink will continue to maintain its operating facilities in Van Nuys, Calif., and will continue to offer its products through its existing independent channels and value added resellers, said Christie.
