BETHESDA, MD — The Car Care Council Women’s Board has announced that the Mobile Air Conditioning Society Worldwide (MACS) and Four Seasons, Inc., a division of Standard Motor Products, Inc., have each agreed to sponsor a $500 scholarship for a female student interested in entering the automotive aftermarket.
The scholarship is available to female students who have completed at least one year in an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program and plan on entering the automotive field upon graduation.
“We are very pleased to sponsor one of the Women’s Board scholarships,” said Kevin Burton, director of product development for Four Seasons, Inc. “The automotive aftermarket has traditionally been thought of as a male dominated industry, but there are a lot of great opportunities for women. This type of program is long overdue. We fully support the Women’s Board in their efforts to recruit and retain talented women to the automotive aftermarket.”
Four Seasons manufactures and distributes a complete line of original automotive equipment replacement climate control products.
Founded in 1981, MACS is the leading non-profit trade association for the mobile air conditioning, heating and engine cooling system segment of the automotive aftermarket, and represents 1600 members in North America and 47 countries around the world.
“I would like to thank MACS and Four Seasons for their generous contribution to the Women’s Board scholarship program,” said Jennifer Tio, president of the Car Care Council’s Women’s Board. “This is the first year we’ve been able to award scholarships to high school students and I’m happy to say that MACS and Four Seasons have helped make this happen.”
The Women’s Board is comprised of professional women and men, including motor sports figures, service shop owners, service writers, association and company executives and consultants, who are dedicated to informing female audiences about proper vehicle maintenance and safety, while encouraging young people to investigate automotive career choices.
