Timken Shareholders Elect New Director

Jerry Jasinowski, president of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), was elected for a three-year term on the Timken board of directors, expiring in 2007. Jasinowki was elected during Timken's annual shareholders meeting held yesterday. James Griffith, John Luke, Jr., Frank Sullivan and Ward Timken have also been re-elected for three-year terms expiring in 2007.

CANTON, OH — Jerry Jasinowski, president of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), was elected for a three-year term on the Timken board of directors, expiring in 2007. Jasinowki was elected during Timken’s annual shareholders meeting held yesterday.

Since 1990, Jasinowski has served as president of the NAM, one of the country’s most respected authorities on political, economic and manufacturing trends and an advocate of manufacturing interests.

A one-time factory worker, Jasinowski joined the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer. He went on to become assistant professor of economics at the U.S. Air Force Academy. In the early 1970s, he managed research and legislative affairs for the Joint Economic Committee of Congress. In 1976, he served as director of the Carter Administration’s economic transition team for the departments of Treasury, Commerce, Labor, the Council of Economic Advisors and the Federal Reserve. He later was appointed assistant secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

James Griffith, John Luke, Jr., Frank Sullivan and Ward Timken have also been re-elected for three-year terms expiring in 2007.

The remaining eight directors are as follows:

Robert Mahoney, Jay Precourt, Ward Timken, Jr. and Joseph Toot, Jr. — terms expiring at the 2005 annual meeting. Joseph Ralston, John Timken, Jr., W. R. Timken, Jr. and Jacqueline Woods — terms expiring at the 2006 annual meeting.
