For the fifth year in a row, Modine Manufacturing has been named one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2004 by Business Ethics magazine. Modine finished 32nd overall, the same ranking as last year, ahead of such companies as Delphi, Eastman Kodak, Fed Ex and PepsiCo, Inc.

RACINE, WI — For the fifth year in a row, Modine Manufacturing has been named one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2004 by Business Ethics magazine. Every year the magazine selects the top corporate citizens based on quantitative measures of corporate service to seven stakeholder groups: stockholders, employees, customers, the community, the environment, overseas stakeholders, women and minorities.

Modine Manufacturing specializes in thermal management. The company’s products are used in light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, HVAC (heating, ventilating, air conditioning) equipment, industrial equipment, refrigeration systems, fuel cells and electronics.

For the third straight year, Modine finished tied for first place in the environment category. “We are extremely proud of our accomplishments world-wide in reducing waste, saving resources and eliminating pollution at our facilities,” said Gary Fahl, Modine’s environmental, health and safety officer.

Modine finished 32nd overall, the same ranking as last year, ahead of such companies as Delphi, Eastman Kodak, Fed Ex and PepsiCo, Inc.

Business Ethics recognized Modine for its work as an environmental steward. The magazine highlighted Modine’s fuel cell program, reporting that the new technology has the potential to replace polluting internal combustion engines.

The top four companies for 2004, in order of ranking, are Fannie Mae, Procter & Gamble, Intel and St. Paul Companies.
