CORONA, CA — American Products Company (APC), a leading automotive aftermarket manufacturer of performance and accessory products, will be featured tonight, Tuesday, May 25, on an episode of the new TLC cable channel series “Overhaulin’.”

Hosted by legendary fabricator Chip Foose, the show dupes unsuspecting vehicle owners by surreptitiously removing their vehicles and tricking them out without their knowledge. The vehicle is then returned to its owner during a surprise “reveal” in a completely modified, tricked, tuned and transformed configuration.

“This was a great opportunity for our staff to demonstrate their expertise,” says Brian Horowitz, APC president. “All of the tear-down, re-design, construction and assembly was performed in-house at our Corona, Calif., facility in just seven days – start to finish. As viewers will see, it was a mad week of frenzied fabrication that resulted in a truly awesome ride.”

For the episode, the APC staff pirated a 1991 Ford Explorer, the daily transportation for a local 18-year-old woman, and modified it with smoothed out steel bumpers, a custom fiberglass speaker enclosure and a dynamic paint scheme of deep black over red with star graphics. A 5.5-inch Superlift kit was installed, along with BFGoodrich low-profile off-road tires, mounted on custom wheels designed by Chip Foose.

The Explorer’s stock Ford powerplant was enhanced with a custom intake from CGS Motorsports and twin Ultima Batteries to provide maximum road-going punch. Inside, the Explorer was transformed with four APC leather-covered bucket seats, a custom center console that extends rearward, dividing the rear seats, and a 3,600-watt Sony Stereo System specially tuned to the “big bass” musical tastes of its owner. Simpson safety harnesses provide added protection for occasional off-roading adventures.

APC also contributed integrated fog lamps, a custom billet grille, a stylish billet aluminum rear view mirror, radio antenna, Euro style metal wiper blades and a tire pressure monitoring system for the transformation.
