LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Lund International’s Ventshade Accessories Division has been awarded Technical Specification (ISO/TS) 16949 Quality Certification by the International Automotive Oversight Bureau (IAOB).

Headquartered in Duluth, Ga., Lund International designs, manufactures and markets appearance products for the automotive aftermarket, sold under the brand names Auto Ventshade, Belmor, Deflecta-Shield, Lund and Nifty.

ISO9001:2000 and ISO/TS16949 certification is granted to companies that meet documented ISO or TS requirements as well as any associated customer-specific requirements. Difficult to achieve, these requirements address every aspect of a business including product development, marketing, production, order request, payment, shipping and delivery.

The ISO/TS 16949 was jointly developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) — a group of automotive manufacturers and their respective trade associations. IATF submitted ISO/TS 16949 to the International Organization for standardization (ISO) for approval and publication. This document, coupled with customer-specific requirements defines quality system requirements for use in the automotive supply chain.

Chrysler will begin requiring ISO/TS 16949 by June of this year, other OE companies are to begin requiring the certification by December 2006.
