BFS Unit to Acquire David Early Tire Co.

BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC (BFRC) has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of the David Early Tire Company (DETC), a privately held, independent tire retailer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Under the agreement, BFRC will operate DETC stores after converting the locations to the Firestone Tire & Service Center format.

BLOOMINGDALE, IL — BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC (BFRC) has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of the David Early Tire Company (DETC), a privately held, independent tire retailer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, BFRC will operate DETC stores after converting the locations to the Firestone Tire & Service Center format. David Early Tire & Service Centers currently sell various brands of tires at their retail locations, including Bridgestone and Firestone.

DETC was started by David Early, Sr., who opened his first store in 1973 in Salt Lake City. Over the next three decades, the company grew to 18 stores throughout Northern Utah, with the last store opening in 2002.

The company has planned to hold a grand reopening after the store conversions are complete, which is expected early this fall. With this acquisition, BFRC will have 24 locations in the Northern Utah area.
