BOWIE, MD — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has hired Jeff Faubion to serve as the association’s director of tire service.

Faubion will be based in Denver, Colo., for this newly created position.

According to TIA, the scheduling demand associated with the Association’s new Instructor Certification Courses for Automotive Tire Service (ATS) and Commercial Tire Service (CTS) necessitated the creation of another position. With Faubion’s hiring, Instructor Certification Courses will now be conducted in Denver, Colorado and in Baltimore, Maryland.

Faubion will be responsible for teaching TIA Instructor Certification Courses as well as the Truck Tire Training Tour Technician Certification course, which is conducted in the fall and spring in ten cities. He will also be available to deliver customized training programs to any company or state association that is interested in holding a course at their own location.

Faubion has more than 18 years of experience in the truck and earthmover tire service industries. As National Service Trainer for Tire Distribution Systems, Inc. (TDS), he traveled the country to train and certify CTS Technicians, but he also developed and conducted MSHA training programs for those locations that serviced earthmover tires in mining operations. He currently holds Above Ground certification from MHSA and has experience with Part 46 compliance for technician training.

Faubion will begin his instruction with the TIA Fall Truck Tire Training Tour on September 28 in Toronto, Canada. Following the Toronto Stop, the tour will then visit nine U.S. cities from Sept. 30 through Oct. 29.

The cost is $250 for each technician who needs a copy of the TIA CTS Manual and $175 for each technician who already has a copy. Every technician who participates must have his or her own copy of the Manual in order to take the Certification Exam.

Registration information is available at: www.tireindustry.org.
