RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — Jack Cameron of The Timken Co. and John Washbish of Dana Corp. have been named to the University of Aftermarket’s Joint Operating Committee (JOC) as representatives of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and its aftermarket segment association, the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).
The University’s Joint Operating Committee consists of representatives from AASA, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA). The committee provides direction in determining future University programs and courses.
Both Cameron and Washbish serve on the AASA Board of Governors.
Cameron is the general manager for Timken’s North and South American automotive aftermarket division. His responsibilities include both the heavy truck and passenger car/light truck segments. A 20-year veteran of the aftermarket, his former positions include vice president of marketing for Dorman Products and marketing manager for Pioneer Automotive Products. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a marketing major and earned his automotive aftermarket professional (AAP) certification for the University of the Aftermarket in 1997.
Since April 2003, Washbish has served as the president of Dana’s customer relationship management group. He was at the helm of Clevite Engine Parts from 1987 until 2000, including the period after 1998 when Dana acquired Clevite. In 2000 he became president of the Dana Under Hood Group. Prior to joining Clevite, he was national sales manager of Michigan Engine Bearings and AEC Universal Joints. Washbish is a graduate of Northwood University with an associates’ degree in automotive aftermarket management and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He earned his AAP from the University of the Aftermarket in 2000.
