BETHESDA, MD — Collision repair industry sales increased 5 percent to $34 billion last year with independent body shops experiencing the largest boost, according to the “2004 Collision Repair Trends: Industry Statistics & Analysis,” a new market research report published by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
“Reinforcing the positive news about steady collision repair shop sales is the findings of a recent AAIA survey of paint and body equipment jobbers,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO. “The PBE jobbers surveyed had a more optimistic outlook about sales growth in the coming year, than they did during any of the previous two years.”
“Collision Repair Trends” provides a summary of market statistics on the collision repair industry, combining the latest available industry data from many sources including original AAIA research, government and independent research supplier databases. The study comprehensively analyzes the size and scope of the collision repair industry and the paint and body equipment (PBE) market in the United States, while also reviewing key industry trends in Canada. The 2004 edition is an update of the first edition, which was released in 2002.
The “2004 Collision Repair Trends: Industry Statistics & Analysis” report is available for $95 for AAIA members and $195 for non-members. To purchase the report, contact AAIA at 301-654-6664 or www.aftermarket.org.
