BETHESDA, MD — The Car Care Council, which directs the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign, established a new Executive Board at a special meeting held last month in Detroit.
Eleven industry executives were named to the new board, which will provide a leadership and oversight platform to the council. Operational support and staffing for the Car Care Council and the “Be Car Care Aware” initiative will continue to be provided by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
Jay Burkhart, vice president of global marketing for Federal-Mogul, has been named chairman of the executive board.
“The creation of the Car Care Council Executive Board is an important step as ‘Be Car Care Aware’ moves to the next level as a fully integrated program,” said Burkhart. “To date, the industry has been remarkably successful in creating a platform for educating motorists about vehicle maintenance. The new board will provide vision and overall direction for the program by executives representing a cross section of the industry.”
Other members of the Car Care Council Executive Board are:
Lisa Kranc, senior vice president, marketing, AutoZone
Pam Krebs, director, advertising & sales promotion, Robert Bosch Corp.
Greg Lancour, vice president, special market projects, Genuine Parts Co.
Randall Long, vice president, marketing, CARQUEST
