DIAMOND BAR, CA — SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, has announced it will offer a full schedule of educational and technical seminars to SEMA Show attendees, beginning on Monday, Nov. 1 (Education Day) through Nov. 5. SEMA’s educational programs will run in conjunction with the annual SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Our seminars are designed to help members succeed and prosper,” said Faith Barnese, SEMA vice president, membership and councils. “We asked SEMA members what they wanted from this already successful educational program. They told us they want to refine and enhance personal leadership skills and build business strategies for the future. And they also wanted hands-on instruction on some of the latest trends in mechanical application. And that is exactly what we’ve given them.”
This year’s seminars will range from stress management and leadership development to customer service and retail management. Other important seminar topics include: employee motivation techniques, e-marketing and related technology, finance, management skills, legal, cash flow, advertising, retail, merchandising, team building and inventory management. Seminars are conducted by leading industry experts, each having considerable experience in their related fields.
On the other end of the spectrum are the practical educational sessions where attendees can get their hands greasy and learn technical applications by experts in the industry. There are more than a dozen technical workshops running throughout the SEMA Show offering in-depth explanations on new products and new automaker components.
“We believe that continuing education is part of the reason why the $29 billion aftermarket industry continues to thrive,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president, marketing and communications. “Knowledge leads to success and progress. And that is why the educational track of seminars at the SEMA Show continues to grow each year.”
The Performance Tires and Wheels show section (Sponsored by the Tire Industry Association) will host a special seminar series called “Tires at Two.” These seminars will cover a broad range of issues specifically affecting the tire industry. Experts will address: future products, legislation, insurance, marketing trends and retailer issues.
Seminars are free to registered show attendees.
