FT. WORTH, TEXAS — Santech Industries, a provider of engineered replacement parts for the global automotive air conditioning market, has announced the creation of the Santech AC Market Index.

Located on the www.santech.com Web site under the tab “AC Market Index,” the index tracks the hot weather patterns associated with the automotive air conditioning market. The first of its kind, the index allows comparison of the historical effect of the weather against business results.

The index and data are searchable by major cities, states, regions, or the entire USA. Days over 80, 90, and 100 degrees are shown compared with the previous 10 year averages. The average high temperature is also shown against historical data. Regions have been assigned based on similar AC weather patterns. The entire continental U.S. is presented in an interactive map form or you can pick city, state, or region from the screen buttons. More than 10 years worth of data is available and can be viewed by month and year.

Santech has created a temperature index for each region that reflects the temperature tolerance of the population and the monthly season. This summary level AC Market Index compiles all of the data into one indicator of whether business should have increased or decreased in the region.
