This week at AAPEX ArvinMeritor announced that it received certification of its Gabriel and private-label ride-control products to all four groups of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association's (AAIA) Product Information Exchange Standards (PIES) Data Audit Certification (DAC) program. The certification means ArvinMeritor's Gabriel and private-label products meet the industry's standards for the exchange of extended product information for the aftermarket and heavy-duty segments of the automotive industry.

LAS VEGAS — This week at AAPEX ArvinMeritor announced that it received certification of its Gabriel and private-label ride-control products to all four groups of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association’s (AAIA) Product Information Exchange Standards (PIES) Data Audit Certification (DAC) program. The certification means ArvinMeritor’s Gabriel and private-label products meet the industry’s standards for the exchange of extended product information for the aftermarket and heavy-duty segments of the automotive industry.

“We’ve listened to our customers regarding the sharing of information about our products and specifications, and we’ve responded,” said Rob Malone, vice president and general manager, Filters, Ride Control and Gas Spring, North America for ArvinMeritor. “As we continue to rely on information technology to conduct business between trading partners, the importance of perfect data becomes obvious. We rely on it not only to serve our customers, but clean data delivery also is critical for category management efforts with our aftermarket partners and suppliers.”

According to AAIA, erroneous data exchange between suppliers and their trading partners costs businesses $1.7 billion annually. AAIA advocates that the continued success of e-business depends on full, rich, accurate data.

“Suppliers are awakening to the competitive advantages of clean data,” said Scott Luckett, AIAA’s vice president, Technology Standards and Solutions. “ArvinMeritor’s efforts should be commended for an outstanding job on all of their Gabriel and private-label ride-control products.”
