Grote Recognized by Consumer Reports for Obstacle Detection System

MADISON, IN — Consumer Reports magazine has rated Grote Industries’ obstacle detection system as the number-one sensor-based vehicle backup system. Grote is a leading designer and manufacturer of vehicle safety systems, headquartered in Madison, Ind.

The ratings, published in the October issue of Consumer Reports, were based on sensitivity, how good the model was at detecting objects, and display usefulness, the effectiveness of the visual and audible warning devices.

Grote’s obstacle detection system contains flat sensor technology that provides 150 degrees of horizontal field vision up to seven feet and monitors back-up zones nine times per second. It also has an automatic self-test, which assures the driver that the system is working when it is activated.
