Forbes 400 Platinum List Features Many Automotive Aftermarket and Transportation Players

Since 1999, Forbes magazine has published annually its Forbes 400 Platinum list, which picks the "Best Big Companies" from 26 different industries. There were a number of notable automotive, aftermarket and transportation names among the list this year.

NEW YORK — Since 1999, Forbes magazine has published annually its Forbes 400 Platinum list, which picks the “Best Big Companies” from 26 different industries. There were a number of notable automotive, aftermarket and transportation names among the list this year.

To make the running, a company must have at least $1 billion in revenue and high rankings for corporate practices as well as long- and short-term sales and earnings growth and stock market performance. Below is a list of a few familiar industry names, in alphabetical order:

After meeting the first set qualifications, the magazine’s editors and writers picked the best managed company in each industry. Only two of the automotive-related companies that made it to the overall list were named “Best Managed.” Those two were: Advance Auto Parts and Caterpillar.
