BETHESDA, MD –– Babcox publisher Jon Owens and AAIA’s Scott Luckett will team up to present the popular Technology Update produced by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) at AAPEX. The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in room 202 of the Sands Expo Center on Monday, Oct. 30.

A "state of the standards" report will be made by Luckett, AAIA’s vice president of technology standards and solutions, including recent enhancements and a preview of the evolving suite of aftermarket technology standards and supply chain solutions.

Following the briefing will be a presentation by Owens, publisher of Counterman, BodyShop Business and aftermarketnews.com. Owens will share his candid observations on e-business and technology in the aftermarket and discuss the steps needed to capitalize on the opportunity to reduce costs throughout the supply chain.

"We are delighted to have Jon speak at this event because he enjoys a unique vantage point of the entire aftermarket industry," Luckett said. "Jon has ‘no horse in the technology race’ so we can count on an unbiased and informative assessment of where we stand and what remains to be done."

The Technology Update typically fills to capacity early, so anyone with interest or responsibilities that include e-business and technology at the manufacturer, distributor or retailer level is urged to reserve a seat.
