FRANKFURT — Continental AG said it will buy Automotive Products Italia Srl (AP) from Australia’s Pacifica Group Ltd. for an undisclosed amount.

AP, the second largest producer of drum brakes in Europe, last year posted sales of about $109 million, Continental said.

The company’s production facility in Cairo Montenotte in the northern Italian province of Savona made about 5.8 million drum and parking brakes in 2006.

Its customers include Fiat, Ford, Renault, Toyota, Land Rover, Mazda and General Motors, Continental said in a statement.

ZF Aftermarket announced it launched 36 new part numbers for a variety of braking, suspension and transmission components for passenger cars in the United States and Canda (USC) aftermarket. This includes 10 new part numbers for SACHS Continuous Damping Control (CDC) shock absorbers, bringing the total number launched this year to 60.
