LAS VEGAS — The Auto International Association (AIA) segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) presented the 19th Annual AIA Industry Awards at AAPEX on Oct. 30. Presented in seven categories, the awards recognize manufacturers and marketers for excellence in products and marketing programs for import cars and trucks.
AIA Awards Committee Chairman Marty Gold of S-G Imported Car Parts presented the following 2007 awards:
• Best Overall Import Aftermarket Product – Bosal Import Exhaust Systems, by Bosal USA.
• Best New Product for Import Cars or Trucks – Premium Japanese Brand Timing Belt Kit, by Nitoma, Inc.
• Best New Performance Product or Accessory for Import Cars or Trucks – “Chrome Over Stainless” Exhaust Tip for Matrix, Camry and Tacoma, by ANSA Automotive Parts Distributors, Inc.
• Best Merchandising/Advertising of a Product for Import Cars or Trucks – Bosch Fuel Savings Calculator, by Robert Bosch LLC.
• Best New Packaging of a Product for Import Cars or Trucks – Bosch 100% New Water Pump Package, by Robert Bosch LLC.
• Best New Catalog of a Product Line for Import Cars or Trucks – Dayco Import Vehicle Application Catalog, by Dayco Products LLC.
• Best Website Presentation of a Product Line for Import Cars or Trucks – www.bosalusa.com, by Bosal USA.
“At a time when product quality – especially for imported products – is a hot topic,” said Gold, “it is great to see the innovation, creativity and quality brands represented in these display cases, and indeed so representative of AAPEX itself.”
The award recipients also were honored at the Oct. 31 AIA Luncheon and Awards Program attended by some 300 AIA members and guests.
