MAHLE China Wins ESG Performance Award

MAHLE was awarded the “More Than a Market Awards 2023” in the Large Enterprise Group category.

MAHLE announced its regional headquarters in China is the only recipient of the “More Than A Market Awards 2023” – ESG Performance Award in the Large Enterprise Group category.

The award recognizes not only the company’s commitment in environmental protection, social responsibilities and corporate governance, but also its high standard of overall operation and forward-looking strategies, according to MAHLE. “It’s a great honor to receive the prestigious award,” said Lydia Shen, the MAHLE China general manager. “It proves that we’re on the right path toward a sustainable future while pursuing long-term business success.”

As a foundation-owned company, MAHLE said it always keeps an eye on its impact on the environment and people. Ecological and social responsibility form the guiding principle that connects all business activities. Its sustainability strategy has been expanded and includes eight strategic areas that are based on the strategic pillar of End-to-End sustainability, the company added.

In addition, end-to-end sustainability is one of the seven Strategic Enablers of the corporate strategy MAHLE 2030+, the company said. This enabler will make sustainability an integral part of every business process and decision at MAHLE. Sustainability has become a core expectation from many stakeholders – customers, employees, investors – and a responsibility towards society overall.

The More Than A Market initiative was launched in 2015 as a joint initiative by the German Chamber of Commerce in China and the Missions of the Federal Republic of Germany in the People’s Republic of China. Its aim was to showcase the best corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by German enterprises in China and their added value for the Chinese society.
