Purolator Wraps Up 100-Year Anniversary at AAPEX

After a century, Purolator has more than 1,400 filtration products for automotive and light truck applications.

Purolator Filters, a division of MANN+HUMMEL, wrapped up its 100-year anniversary celebration at this year’s AAPEX.

After a century of innovation, the celebration concluded at AAPEX booth #A1844.

“Celebrating the first 100 years of Purolator allowed us to look back and remember our humble beginnings,” said Daryl Benton, vice president of sales and marketing for the automotive aftermarket with MANN+HUMMEL. He added, “We’re starting our second century of business because we’ve always been able to keep up with the ever-changing automotive industry. One thing we won’t change in the next 100 years is our dedication to progress and problem-solving.”

Over the last century, Purolator has adopted innovative ways to advance filtration in the automotive industry. The first oil filtration system was created by founder, Ernest Sweetland, in 1923. He chose to name the company “Purolator,” short for “pure oil later.” Notable developments over the past 100 years include the first “spin-on” oil filter, created in 1955, and the release of the PureONE oil filter, introduced in 1996.

The global filtration company MANN+HUMMEL acquired Purolator Filters in 2012. Today, Purolator has more than 1,400 filtration part numbers for automotive and light truck applications.

Purolator Filters also announced the company will now provide digital product application catalogs with filtration information for MANN-FILTER, Purolator, WIX products and more. The catalogs can be accessed at: mannhummelcatalogs.com/products

In addition to easy access, users are now connected to the most current information for all applications and products, MANN+HUMMEL said. These catalogs will be updated as new offerings and brands become available.
