Eaton Releases 2022 Global Inclusion and Diversity Report

In its third consecutive I&D report, Eaton reported that over two-thirds of its board are now women or minorities.

Eaton has published its 2022 Global Inclusion and Diversity Transparency report. This marks the third consecutive year of the company’s disclosure on inclusion and diversity (I&D).

Key findings of the report include:

  • Over two-thirds of Eaton’s board of directors are now either women or U.S. minorities.
  • 57% of the company’s global leadership team identifies as U.S. minorities.
  • Expenditure with diverse suppliers has risen, moving from $698 million to $906 million.
  • Due to an updated criminal background review process, there has been an increase in second chance hires passing post-offer criminal screenings, from 81.3% to 82.4%.

Nicole Crews, Eaton’s director of global inclusion and diversity, commented on the report’s findings.

“We aim to create a culture where every Eaton employee has equal opportunities for growth and development,” Crews said. “By valuing diverse experiences and perspectives, we challenge conventional thinking and cultivate an environment where everyone can succeed.”

Additionally, in 2023, Eaton achieved a perfect score on the Disability Equality Index (DEI), being recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion for the third consecutive year, the company said. Eaton was also featured on Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity and has consistently scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for seven years.

Eaton, founded in 1911, celebrated its centennial listing on the New York Stock Exchange recently. The company reported a revenue of $20.8 billion in 2022 and operates in over 170 countries.
