Stanadyne Showcases Propulsion Engine Innovations

Stanadyne returns to the Detroit Auto Show’s Automobili-D to showcase its new products supporting clean propulsion.

Stanadyne, a global fuel and air management systems supplier, is returning to the Detroit Auto Show’s Automobili-D program this year to showcase its new high-performance, high-pressure and alternative fuel products, systems and solutions supporting clean propulsion through engine innovation. Stanadyne’s Automobili-D exhibit will feature:

  • Advancements in hydrogen and liquid propone fuel delivery;
  • An application-ready original-equipment 500-bar gasoline direct injection (GDI) fuel pump and injector system for improving engine efficiency and reducing emissions;
  • A new 350-bar GDI performance aftermarket pump;
  • The company’s two-piston diesel common rail fuel pump; and
  • A 2021 Toyota Supra from Spool Performance featuring Stanadyne’s new specialty 350-bar performance high-pressure GDI fuel pump.

“Our new product lines are driving decarbonization and performance of the internal combustion engine,” said Stanadyne President David Zimmerman. “Stanadyne’s central strategy is to support green mobility initiatives with best-in-class fuel delivery systems for internal combustion engines. Gasoline, diesel and alternative fuel engines have a lot to offer the mobility industry as energy efficient, low-carbon powertrain options.”

For performance enthusiasts, Stanadyne has partnered with Spool to enhance the B58 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine powering a 2021 Toyota Supra. The vehicle is equipped with Stanadyne’s new specialty 350-bar performance high-pressure GDI fuel pump to produce more than 745 horsepower, nearly doubling the factory baseline of up to 386, the company said.

Stanadyne said it believes that the internal combustion engine is an integral part of the industry’s low-carbon future. On the journey to an electrified future, engine innovation delivers cost-effective decarbonization gains by addressing hard-to-electrify applications and enabling hybridization across a wider range of vehicles and markets. Stanadyne said it continues to invest in research and development for decarbonizing the internal combustion engine and transitioning to sustainable propulsion.

Stanadyne is exhibiting at Automobili-D Vehicle Pod 2 inside Huntington Place during The Detroit Auto Show’s Industry Tech Days from Sept.13-14.
