Niterra Breaks Ground on West Virginia Campus Expansion

The expansion of the Sissonville campus will add 75,000 square feet of space and about 30 new positions.

Niterra North America Inc., formerly NGK Spark Plugs U.S.A. Inc., is starting construction at its Sissonville, West Virginia, campus on June 13 to expand operations.

Michael Schwab, Niterra’s regional president and CEO, emphasized the company’s dedication to investing in its employees and the communities in which it operates. While improving operations, the new structure strengthens Niterra’s commitment to the economic growth of Sissonville and West Virginia, Schwab noted.

The honorable Jim Justice, Governor of West Virginia, expressed enthusiasm about expanding Niterra’s facility in Kanawha County, mentioning the company’s long-standing commitment to the people of West Virginia.

The Sissonville campus, established in 1994, houses the NGK Spark Plug and NTK oxygen sensor assembly plants. Initially, it had 90 permanent jobs, which have grown to over 500 full-time and 70 temporary jobs. The expansion of this campus will add 75,000 sq.-ft. of space and about 30 new positions, Niterra says.

In addition to the groundbreaking ceremony, Niterra says it will promote its sustainability efforts by working with One Tree Planted, a new partner, to plant a commemorative tree on campus and donate 1,000 trees to the community.
