OEM Supplier SEG Automotive Enters Independent Aftermarket

SEG delivers starters, alternators and spare parts to N.A. aftermarket through a dedicated sales and logistics network.

Most people have an SEG Automotive product in their car and don’t even know it: The global supplier of starter motors, alternators and components for electrification powers more than 300 million vehicles on the road today. Now, SEG Automotive says it is bringing its well-known manufacturing competence and OE quality to the automotive aftermarket in North America.

Since 1914, mobility starts with SEG Automotive. As the successor of the BOSCH division behind the “ancestors” of today’s modern alternators and starter motors, the company stands for more than a century of innovations. These also include the first Start/Stop system, and highly flexible solutions for hybrid vehicles and high voltage e-drives. Now, the company is expanding its aftermarket business to North America.

“We are excited to bring our starters and alternators into the North American Aftermarket and to provide our customers with what we are known for: The highest OEM Tier 1 quality with unassailable reliability. In fact, our aftermarket products are manufactured on our OE lines with the exact same quality standards and components,” said David Manor, director of sales for SEG Automotive North America.

Almost all automotive OEMs worldwide, including the major U.S. brands, rely on SEG Automotive’s global production network – with more than 6,000 employees on six continents. The supplier’s portfolio covers a variety of on- and off-road segments: from passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, to trucks, farm and agricultural vehicles or construction machines.

“The initial product portfolio for North America consists of just over 600-part numbers for key OEM platforms. We will continue to invest in expanding our portfolio in 12-volt, 24-volt, and 48-volt applications to further strengthen our market coverage: Our organization has made a commitment to be the last man standing for these specific product categories both for the OEM business and the aftermarket. This guaranteed product and application coverage for today and the future adds another dimension to our role as a reliable partner for our aftermarket customers,” Manor continued.

The product offering is supported by a dedicated logistics and sales network specifically for distribution of SEG Automotive products in the North American aftermarket. To learn more about the supplier and its aftermarket portfolio, visit www.seg-automotive.com/aftermarket/.
