AACF’s 30th Annual Charity Golf Event is a Hit

More than $600,000 was raised to help individuals and families in need who work in the automotive aftermarket business.

More than 160 members of the automotive industry from across the country joined the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) for its 30th annual golf fundraiser to support the automotive aftermarket community. The Bob Schoeberl Memorial Tournament was held at the Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, in conjunction with AAPEX and SEMA industry week.

The event kicked off with a Board of Trustees meeting on Sunday afternoon and an appreciation cocktail reception was held Sunday evening. It was attended by sponsors, donors, golfers and the AACF’s board members. There was a great selection of hors d’oeuvres, as well as a hosted bar. A live jazz band made for an entertaining evening.

The Bob Schoeberl Memorial Golf Tournament then took place Monday at the Spanish Trail Country Club’s 27-hole championship course.

These four industry leaders (above) — from left: Don Daugherty of Hovis Auto and Truck Supply, Barry Hills of Canammex Thunderbolt, Pete Thomas of Parts Authority and Bob Resco of Federated Auto Parts — took home the trophy, but everyone was a winner that participated in the tournament. More than $600,000 was raised to help individuals and families in need who work in the automotive aftermarket business and are suffering from illness or a catastrophe such as fire, hurricane or other disaster.

AACF is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to providing emergency funding to automotive aftermarket families in need for more than 50 years.
