Automotive Chemicals from LIQUI MOLY at AAPEX, SEMA Show

Motor oils and additives made in Germany – including new gear oil especially for Tesla – will be on display.

When AAPEX and the SEMA Show open their doors in Las Vegas at the beginning of November, LIQUI MOLY will be there, presenting new products and demonstrating its wide range of automotive chemicals. The new products include Top Tec Gear EV 510, a gear oil especially for Tesla.

“The EV 510 is one example of how we are supporting the change in mobility,” said Sebastian Zelger, CEO of LIQUI MOLY USA. “We aim our wide range of automotive chemicals not just at classic combustion engines, but also at hybrid vehicles and fully electric cars.”

For combustion engines, LIQUI MOLY is presenting, among other things, two new products for injectors. The Pro-Line Injector and Glow Plug Dismantling Aid is a high-performance solvent for injectors, glow plugs and spark plugs that are stuck. It infiltrates soiling and corrosion and allows for easy removal after a short exposure time. To make things faster next time, new injectors can be treated with Pro-Line Injector and Glow Plug Grease before installation.

This year, LIQUI MOLY will be exhibiting at AAPEX as well as at the SEMA Show. In addition to an overview of the range of motor oils, gear oils, additives, greases, pastes and chemical tools just for professionals, LIQUI MOLY says it also has a great deal of specialist knowledge that it is eager to share. “It is therefore important to understand that nowadays motor oil is a liquid spare part that must match the respective engine exactly,” said Zelger. “Putting in the wrong oil is like fitting the wrong replacement part.”

An oil guide available at www.liqui-moly.com shows with just a few clicks which oils are suitable for a specific vehicle. “Using this keeps you on the safe side and avoids unnecessary, expensive mistakes.”

But LIQUI MOLY doesn’t just want to show visitors its range. “We also want to find out which technical problems they are struggling with,” said Zelger. “Perhaps we already have a chemical solution for it. But if not, it is valuable information for developing new products.” Such discussions, with workshop professionals as well as with hobby mechanics, have often led to new developments in the past.”

LIQUI MOLY says the fact that it is exhibiting at both trade fairs reflects the company’s course of success in the U.S. Once an oil specialist for German imports, LIQUI MOLY now offers a wide range of lubricants for domestic and Asian models. From January to September, sales growth was 23 percent above the same period last year – and this follows an exceptionally strong 2021, in which sales had already increased by more than 50 percent. With this development, the U.S. is now by far the most important market for the company, after its home market of Germany.

“We want to continue this strong growth in 2023 and AAPEX and the SEMA Show will help us with this,” said Zelger. The growth also includes more staff, the company adds. During the pandemic, the company did not cut jobs, but instead continued to recruit. LIQUI MOLY USA now has over 50 percent more employees than before the pandemic.

LIQUI MOLY will be at AAPEX booth A3238 and at the SEMA Show in the Central Hall at booth 24213.
