HDMA Announces Theme for Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue 2023

HDMA Shares Theme for Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue

The event will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), has announced the theme of the 2023 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue (HDAD), which will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The program, which is co-presented by HDMA and MacKay & Company, will be themed “Resiliently Transforming the Future.”

The annual full-day conference, which kicks off Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) and brings together thought leaders from all segments of the heavy-duty aftermarket industry, has never had an official theme before.

“We felt it was important to acknowledge the impressive resiliency of the people in this industry, especially over these past few years,” said Collin Shaw, president and chief operating officer of HDMA. “What we want to do at HDAD is to tap into and re-invigorate this spirit of resiliency as we look toward the future, and ensure that attendees are equipped to transform their operations to be sustainable and prosperous as the industry continues to evolve – faster than ever.”

Following in-line with this year’s theme, the conference itself will be experiencing a transformation of its own, with new branding, a refreshed agenda, more first-time speakers, and a few surprises, say event organizers. An important change attendees will notice is the faster pace of the program – no segment will exceed 45 minutes, and most will be shorter than that. “Our hope is to keep the energy sustained throughout the day,” noted Shaw, “And, shorter time slots mean we can fit more agenda items into the day – increasing the content and value for our attendees. Its win-win.”

The core goal of the event will, however, remain: to broadcast critical information and unique insights regarding the outlook of the heavy-duty aftermarket industry, delivered by industry experts, as well as the exchange of ideas, actions and strategies to ensure success in the future.

“While we are breathing new life into the event, there are still some foundational topics we cover year-over-year at HDAD that are not going away,” said John Blodgett, vice president, sales & marketing, MacKay & Co., and also a key presenter during the conference. “Macro-economic trends, governmental affairs, the aftermarket industry economy and outlook, a variety of panel discussions – these are key agenda items that our audience looks forward to each year, and you can rest assured they will be there in 2023.”

Some of the foundational HDAD topics attendees can expect in 2023 are:

  • A real-world view of the aftermarket from the viewpoint of industry leaders across segments and product ranges, focusing on current business conditions, market disruptors, and innovations changing the market’s landscape
  • A deep dive into governmental legislation and its potential impact on the aftermarket industry
  • Macro-economic trends that will impact the industry over the next five years
  • MacKay & Company’s Truckable Economic Activity report insight and Aftermarket Review

Additional topics, speakers, and panelists will be announced soon.

Registration is currently open for Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue 2023, with discounted tickets available to HDMA/MEMA members and MacKay & Company customers. Volume discounts are also available.
