National Auto Parts Warehouse (NPW) recently hosted its 31st Annual Charity Golf event on the links at Shula’s Miami Lakes Golf Course amid lots of sunshine and temps in the 80s, making for a fabulous day, said the company. In addition to having more than 100 players from the automotive industry, PGA’s Erik Compton was there to offer advice and inspire the teams.
Compton, who is a Miami native with several professional PGA wins, held a clinic before the start of the event to help improve the players handicaps and offer guidance.
Compton has a unique story on his way to his PGA prowess. Having two heart transplants during his life, he has shown and is recognized for his courage and perseverance and was given the PGA TOUR Courage Award in 2013.
Following cocktails and dinner at the Miami Lakes Golf Course’s facility and Don Shula’s Steakhouse, an awards and recognition ceremony took place. Door prizes were presented to everyone who played. The winner in a scorecard playoff was Automotive Products with 14 under par. The event culminated with a $6,000 pledge to First Tee Miami.
Larry Pacey, president and CEO of NPW, said, “We are very grateful for the support of all our sponsors who make this event possible, especially during Covid. We certainly know that both our customers and our suppliers create business opportunities here as well as friendships as they spend time outside the normal business process. We are also glad to have the proceeds benefit the “The First Tee Miami”. We look forward to our 32nd event next year and in 2022 we will be in a brand-new facility to better support our customers and have room to grow.”
