EnerSys Expands ODYSSEY Battery Portfolio

Portfolio now includes former NorthStar battery product line.

EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, has expanded its ODYSSEY battery brand portfolio to now include products formerly sold under the NorthStar battery brand. As a result of the portfolio expansion, all NorthStar batteries for transportation applications will now be sold under the ODYSSEY battery brand.

The expanded portfolio includes ODYSSEY Performance batteries, a cost-effective choice designed to handle the increased use of on-board accessories in today’s vehicles; ODYSSEY Extreme batteries, a true dual-purpose solution that offers enormous cranking and deep cycle reserve power; and ODYSSEY PRO batteries, engineered with an advanced carbon additive for more reserve capacity and longer cycle life. The entire line of virtually maintenance-free batteries feature the company’s proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology.

“With over 25 years of production, ODYSSEY batteries have grown to become a household name; one that customers have come to rely on to provide resilient and unmatched power for all their transportation needs,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of marketing, Transportation & Specialty at EnerSys. “In an effort to continuously enhance the customer experience, our expanded line will combine the qualities of NorthStar batteries with the tried-and-true performance of our ODYSSEY battery brand to provide more options that meet the unique power demands of today’s vehicles.”
