Interns Selected To Work In The Pits At the 2021 NHRA U.S. Nationals

‘In The Pits’ Interns Selected For 2021 NHRA U.S. Nationals

Juliaun Pracht and Jeremy Sullivan will work alongside the Randy Meyer Racing Top Alcohol drag racing team next month.

Technician.Academy and Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) are excited to welcome two new Respect is Learned In The Pits contest winners to the team for this year’s internship opportunity. Juliaun Pracht and Jeremy Sullivan have been selected from the pool of applicants to work alongside the RMR Top Alcohol drag racing team next month at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. The two young technicians stood out from the crowd in their applications and video submissions that detailed their passion for motorsports and automotive repair.

“We’re proud to continue offering this unique opportunity to young technicians. We’re excited to introduce Juliaun and Jeremy to the Randy Meyer Racing team in a couple short weeks. This is going to be an incredible learning experience for the both of them,” said Shawn Collins, founder of Technician.Academy.

Pracht is a student at West Kentucky Community Technical College, where he will soon graduate with an Associate of Applied Science. He works at a local Chrysler dealership and owns a Shelby Mustang that he regularly races on the weekends. Juliaun first became interested in automotive repair in high school when he purchased a 1972 Ford truck and tried fixing it up. His hobby for cars turned into a passion and became what he truly wanted to do professionally. Juliaun is excited to work on one of the fastest cars on the planet and push his passion for motorsports even further.

“The opportunity to work with the Randy Meyer Racing team has filled me with excitement to get close and personal with their Top Alcohol Dragsters,” said Juliaun. “Having been in an automotive technology program for a few years at my local community college, West Kentucky Community & Technical College, as well as taking an interest in drag racing while attending, winning Technician.Academy’s Respect is Learned In The Pits contest is an exciting step towards my dream of becoming a motorsports professional.”

The other Respect is Learned In The Pits winner for 2021 is Illinois native Jeremy Sullivan. Jeremy attends Waubonsee Community College and is pursuing a career in the automotive industry. His passion for cars began at a very young age where he spent a significant amount of time in the garage with his grandfather. Jeremy is a dedicated learner who’s excited to learn more about motorsports and gain invaluable experience at an NHRA event.

“It feels like a golden opportunity has just opened up for me! I am so excited to do this,” Jeremy said.

Juliaun and Jeremy will gain hands-on experience behind the scenes at one of the largest drag racing events in the world, a feat few young technicians can tout. These winners will work with both RMR drivers, Rachel Meyer and Julie Nataas, during the entire Labor Day race weekend event. The RMR team hopes to take home another Wally in 2021 after two years in a row of Randy Meyer Racing victories with Megan Meyer behind the wheel.

“I am excited to return to the U.S. Nationals for the third time,” said Rachel Meyer, driver of the NTK Top Alcohol Dragster. “We’d like to get back into the winner circle again this year with help from our Technician.Academy, MotoRad, and Ivy Tech interns. We have been on a winning streak the past couple of races, and I have high hopes that we can continue the momentum at the biggest race of the year.”

The Respect is Learned In The Pits contest wouldn’t be possible without the support of MotoRad and Ivy Tech Community College Evansville and additional assistance from EXTEND GROUP and Romain Cross Pointe Auto Park. To learn more about the contest, visit www.Technician.Academy
