Kenda Helps Enhance Offerings At Gators Bike Park

Kenda’s support will help provide a place for kids, families, and adults to advance their mountain biking skills together.

Kenda, the tire experts for riders, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Gators Bike Park expansion in Columbus, Ohio. This sponsorship is part of the company’s community outreach efforts, partnering with organizations that bring mountain sports to the next generation of riders.

“Research shows that outdoor play is critical to the development of children. Through our partnership with Gators Bike Park we’re able to encourage and inspire people through authentic local adventure and provide them with an opportunity to develop skills that will last a lifetime,” said Matt Boissy, director of Bicycle, American Kenda Rubber. “Kenda proudly supports community groups, teams and athletes passionate about riding as we are, be it on the trails or on the road.”

Since 2013, Gators Bike Park has grown into a park that has been credited for giving many youths their very first experience on a bike; teaching kids to ride a pedal bike for the first time ever, helped hundreds of kids gain confidence in their riding skills, and given young riders tips and techniques to help them enjoy trail riding safely. This latest bike park expansion will be its largest endeavor yet: a 53-foot by 53-foot professionally built pump track, a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features, in addition to a pavilion of picnic tables and bike racks.

“This partnership with Kenda allows us to expand our experiences and programming with a like-minded partner,” says Rick Armstrong, founder, Gators Bike Park. “The goal of this park has always been for riders to have fun while learning something new. With Kenda’s help, we’re able to provide unique outdoor experiences for both seasoned adventurers and people new to our trail.”

With Kenda’s support the park expansion will provide a top-notch space to enhance the skills and performance of riders of all ages and skill-sets on the trails. “Mountain biking is in our DNA! We’re excited for this opportunity to build spirit for the sport, connect with local members of the community and help people realize the benefits of having great mountain biking trails nearby,” remarked Jimmy Yang, Chairman and President, Kenda.
