Highline Increases Bleach Production, Adds Hand Sanitizer

Service Champ and Prime Guard hand sanitizers will be available May 4.

Highline Aftermarket, a leading national distributor of automotive products, has joined the fight against the spread of the deadly virus that causes COVID-19. The company announced recently that facilities producing products like Rain-X washer fluid and Prime Guard diesel exhaust fluid have increased production of 80% alcohol hand sanitizer and 100% pure household bleach.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Protection recommends alcohol-based hand sanitizers (composed of at least 70% alcohol) as an effective way to destroy and slow the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Disinfectant bleach is recommended for sanitizing household surfaces, using a mixture of five tablespoons of chlorine bleach per gallon of water. (Learn more at cdc.gov.)

“With our capabilities and resources, no company is better positioned than Highline to make these much-needed products,” said Will DuBose, president of manufacturing. “Our team drove this strategy because we have the flexibility to quickly plan and increase production. We’ve focused three of our facilities on emergency pandemic response, and to fulfill demand all are running six days a week, producing hundreds of thousands of gallons of liquid hand sanitizer and bleach. Highline will continue to do everything we can to support our customers to help battle COVID-19, and together we will beat this.”

The company is in the midst of a nationwide rollout of these products. Highline’s PolyGuard Blast Bleach is available now, and its Service Champ and Prime Guard hand sanitizers will be available May 4. To order, customers can call (800) 986-2211 or e-mail [email protected].

“I’ve witnessed the exchange of ideas, cross-functional cooperation, and quick execution as we’ve taken this from an idea to a mission to crucial products ready to ship,” said CEO Darcy Curran. “Our team is resilient and undaunted, no matter what obstacles come our way, and we’re ready to serve however we can.”
