Nouryon Signs Deal With SulNOx For Additives For Fuels Market

The former AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals business will utilize SulNOx’s technology to introduce two new environmentally conscious solutions to the market.

Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) plans to expand its offerings to customers in the fuels market through an exclusive global licensing agreement with SulNOx Group, a hydrocarbon fuel emulsification and additive specialist.

Under the agreement, Nouryon will introduce two new additives, Berol 6446 and Berol 6430, designed to help improve the combustion efficiency of diesel and lower-viscosity heavy fuel oil (HFO) for transportation and power generation.

“The new additives use SulNOx’s technology, which is designed to emulsify hydrocarbon fuels to ensure more efficient combustion, resulting in reduced harmful gases and other air pollutants,” said Lynnette Bowen, global marketing director at Nouryon.

AB Ghosh, managing director surface chemistry at Nouryon, added, “Our main focus in the market is helping customers formulate fuels and lubricants that meet next-generation legislation and OEM requirements. By forming strategic partnerships and working collaboratively we’re able to deliver on this even faster.”

Gary Bostock, CEO and co-founder of SulNOx, noted that in working together, Nouryon and SulNOx will be able provide more environmentally conscious solutions to the market.
