A-Star Distributing Selects Autopart As Its Point Of Sale Solution

Washington-based body parts distributor purchases Autopart from MAM Software.

MAM Software has announced that A-Star Distributing has selected Autopart from MAM Software as the business software solution to replace its legacy system.

A-Star Distributing Inc., a Washington-based body parts distributor began in 1985 as a low-cost, high-quality alternative to the expensive OEM replacement parts. The company services the Spokane area by providing its customers with new parts at affordable prices and excellent service.

As the market evolves, taking advantage of new opportunities can be challenging with older technology. According to A-Star Distributing, the company felt that it could be more flexible and able to better serve its customers with a business system built with today’s technology.

“We knew that it was time to invest in new technology,” said Damon Smathers, controller of A-Star Distributing. “We looked closely at the capabilities of Autopart and felt that it would best fit the needs of our company and help us move our business to the next level.”

Available as a traditional on-premise solution or hosted cloud solution, Autopart combines modern .NET technology with a SQL database for unparalleled functionality and flexibility in a system designed specifically for the automotive aftermarket. The system includes point-of-sale, inventory management, forecasting, purchasing, reporting and accounting. A-Star also will leverage Autopart to fulfill its online listings with internet marketplaces.

“We are excited that A-Star Distributing has decided to work with us and has selected our Autopart solution,” said Lance Brierley, general manager of MAM Software, North America. “We are looking forward to the partnership and becoming a better company while help them become a better company.”
