The Automotive Distribution Network’s National Advisory Council recently toured Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Training Center as part of its recent annual meeting in St. Louis.

More than 170 guests of Federated member Motown Automotive Distributing Co. enjoyed a great day of golf on August 6 at the Oak Pointe Country Club in Brighton, Michigan. Playing on two courses, every attendee received a piece of Under Armour brand apparel courtesy of Motown. In addition, almost 80 percent of the Motown customers went home with a nice raffle prize. The event also raised nearly $800 for charity through a 50/50 raffle. Michael Dunne was the keynote speaker at this year’s Latin Auto Parts Expo. He spoke about electric and autonomous vehicles.

Tony McKoy, a United States Army veteran from McDonough, Georgia, was named the winner of a fully restored and reimagined ’66 Chevy Chevelle, $15,000 and a paid trip to Hot August Nights, thanks to CARDONE Industries and Swag Custom Rides.

Kukui Corp., the maker of the All-in-One Success Platform, has joined Richard Rawlings and crew for the second season of the Discovery Channel program “Garage Rehab.”

Continuing its support of urban and sustainable farming in Detroit, Mahindra Automotive North America has presented the non-profit Eastern Market Corp. with two new work vehicles.

Dale Ross from 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division, Susie Frausto from Gerber Collision, Darren Huggins from Berkshire Hathaway Automotive and Clark Plucinski from CREF unveil the 3M Hire Our Heroes 500 trophy.

Midas recently celebrated with the recipients of the Midas Franchisee of the Year Award: Judd Shader, multi-store owner of the Leeds West group, and staff.

Atlanta resident John Quinones was given the gift of a restored vehicle by the NABC Recycled Rides program. Quinones was presented a 2014 Dodge Avenger SE.

Federated member Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, located in Mercer, Pennsylvania, recently celebrated the grand opening of its 17th location in Wexford, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. The No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil show car also was at the event, along with a racing simulator.

BASF Named a 2023 Supplier of the Year by GM

This year’s win marks the 17th time that BASF has been honored with the Supplier of the Year award in the 32-year history of GM’s recognition program, the company said.

BASF supplier of the year GM

BASF announced it was recognized by General Motors (GM) as a 2023 Supplier of the Year. This year's win marks the 17th time that BASF has been honored with the Supplier of the Year award in the 32-year history of GM's recognition program, the company said.

The Supplier of the Year celebrates global suppliers that distinguish themselves by exceeding GM’s standards, while providing innovative technologies and achieving some of the highest quality standards in the automotive industry, according to General Motors. The awards were given during GM’s recent supplier event in Miami.
