COVERCRAFT Acquires Marathon Seat Covers

This latest acquisition enhances Covercraft's pattern library and expands the company's assortment of custom-fit automotive aftermarket seat covers.

Covercraft Industries LLC announced the acquisition of Marathon Seat Covers, a well-established manufacturer of premium-quality, custom-fit seat covers for the automotive industry. This latest acquisition enhances Covercraft’s pattern library and expands the company’s assortment of custom-fit automotive aftermarket seat covers.

Founded in 1978, Marathon Seat Covers’ products cater to outdoor enthusiasts, families and the hard-working pickup owner with seat covers that are durable, stylish and precisely fitted.

Since Covercraft partnered with Century Park Capital Partners in 2015, Marathon Seat Covers becomes the third acquisition to join Covercraft’s ever-increasing family of vehicle protection products. Last year, Covercraft added GT Covers, a highly respected manufacturer of premium-quality, precision-fit seat covers, and in 2016 added ADCO Products, a market leader in RV covers and protection accessories.

The company says this latest acquisition firmly places Covercraft as a market leader of custom-fitted automotive seat covers and enhances the total product offering of the company. “We take pride in knowing that we’re in a category of one when it comes to custom vehicle protection products, and the addition of Marathon Seat Covers further solidifies our commitment to providing the largest assortment of premium interior protection products available in the automotive aftermarket,” said Mark Korros, president and CEO of Covercraft.

Covercraft offers one of the world’s most comprehensive assortments of premium-quality custom-fit vehicle seat covers and also is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket protection accessories for the automotive, aviation, RV, power sports, marine, motorcycles and outdoor products end-markets. Covercraft also owns a significant presence in the automotive OEM market, serving the leading manufacturers with custom-designed protection products.

In addition to selling products under the Covercraft, ADCO and GT Covers brands, the company also holds licenses for Ford, Carhartt, Winnebago, Airstream and Tommy Bahama.

Guy Zaczepinski, managing partner with Century Park Capital Partners and chairman of Covercraft, said, “The product offering that Marathon brings to the table further enhances Covercraft’s position as the authority in the custom seat cover category, and in vehicle protection more broadly. We are fortunate to have such a high-quality brand join our growing family.”
