EnerSys Signs Supply Agreement With Navistar

“This agreement formalizes a strategic partnership between EnerSys and Navistar to supply premium AGM batteries for both OE production, as well as its dealer aftermarket program,” said Jeff Long, president, Americas at EnerSys.

EnerSys, a global provider of stored energy solutions for industrial applications and manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, recently signed a four-year supply agreement with Navistar. The agreement covers the supply of ODYSSEY batteries for OE on International-branded trucks, and all-makes aftermarket replacement batteries sold by International Truck dealers under the Fleetrite Platinum Plus brand. International Truck currently has more than 700 dealers in the United States and Canada.

“This agreement formalizes a strategic partnership between EnerSys and Navistar to supply premium AGM batteries for both OE production, as well as its dealer aftermarket program,” said Jeff Long, president, Americas at EnerSys. “We are increasingly seeing that fleets value the benefits of ODYSSEY premium AGM batteries for their reliability and longevity.”

Manufactured with proprietary thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, the pure lead plates used in the construction of ODYSSEY batteries are made thinner, allowing for more to fit in the battery. The increased number of plates results in more surface area, increased power and massive deep cycling capability. The rugged construction and non-spillable dry cell design of ODYSSEY batteries protects against high impact shock and mechanical vibration, which are common causes of battery failure.
