WABCO Announces Major Long-Term Agreement With One Of Russia’s Largest Heavy-Duty Commercial Vehicle Manufacturers

The new agreement marks further expansion of WABCO’s partnership with this customer as WABCO is now engaged as major supplier of anti-lock braking as well as electronic braking systems, traction control and electronic stability control and electronically controlled air suspension.

WABCO - ebsWABCO, a global supplier of safety and efficiency technologies for commercial vehicles, has entered into a new long-term agreement as major supplier for a comprehensive range of advanced and conventional technologies for one of Russia’s largest heavy-duty commercial vehicle manufacturers.

WABCO made its announcement at COMTRANS/15, one of the industry’s largest commercial vehicle auto exhibitions, taking place this week in Moscow, Russia.

The new agreement marks further expansion of WABCO’s partnership with this customer as WABCO is now engaged as major supplier of anti-lock braking as well as electronic braking systems; traction control and electronic stability control; and electronically controlled air suspension, among other braking and air management products that help to improve vehicle safety and efficiency.

For more than a decade, WABCO has been supplying this major OEM headquartered in Russia with technologies for braking, stability and suspension systems.

“WABCO is proud to earn this important customer’s preference as their major supplier as we had fully anticipated their vehicle safety and efficiency needs for their different platforms serving the Russian market and neighboring economies,” said Dmitri Medvedev, WABCO business leader, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). “WABCO is further differentiated by bundling the most convincing and reliable offering of products, services and cost efficiency to help improve the competitiveness of our customer¹s own product range in an increasingly challenging commercial vehicle market environment.

“Winning this incremental business is yet another example of how WABCO creates a world of difference for customers through technology leadership, world-class global manufacturing and excellence in execution from product development to series production,” said Medvedev.

Headquartered in Moscow, WABCO Russia has a factory in Miass and a distribution center in the Moscow region, supplying makers of trucks, trailers and buses, as well as aftermarket customers. WABCO has been serving markets within CIS for more than 40 years. WABCO Russia alone has also five regional sales offices, 25 dealers, more than 160 authorized WABCO shops and more than 170 Service Partners across the country.
