EnerSys Awarded Approved Supplier Status At Mid-States Distributing Co.

Mid-States Distributing Co. is approaching 700 stores in 34 states and five Canadian provinces. As an Approved Supplier, EnerSys now has access to the buyers for the Mid-States member stores.

EnerSys, a global provider of stored energy solutions for industrial applications and manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, recently achieved Approved Supplier status at Mid-States Distributing Co. Inc. Mid-States is a buying cooperative founded in 1954 whose retail members have become some of the nation’s premier retailers in the farm and home store channel. The company is approaching 700 stores in 34 states and five Canadian provinces. As an Approved Supplier, EnerSys now has access to the buyers for the Mid-States member stores.

Manufactured with proprietary thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, the pure lead plates used in the construction of ODYSSEY batteries are made thinner, allowing for more to fit in the battery. The increased number of plates results in more surface area, increased power and massive deep cycling capability. The rugged construction and non-spillable dry cell design of ODYSSEY batteries protects against high impact shock and mechanical vibration, which are common causes of battery failure.

“ODYSSEY batteries are an ideal solution for a variety of applications – whether for automotive, marine and powersports applications or for today’s farm equipment,” said Tom Rafferty, national account manager at EnerSys. “As a Mid-States Approved Supplier, we not only have the opportunity to offer customers the ODYSSEY battery product line, but also to be part of a program built upon integrity, quality and reliability.”
