Diesel Forward And H.G. Makelim Co. Announce Merger

This merger will expand Diesel Forward’s reach across the continental United States.

The Heavy Duty Division of H.G. Makelim Co. will merge with Diesel Forward Inc., effective Dec. 18. Both companies distribute diesel engine parts into the aftermarket.for leading global manufacturers such as Bosch, Stanadyne, DENSO, Delphi, Alliant Power, Borg Warner and Holset. This merger will expand Diesel Forward’s reach across the continental United States.

Bob Breunig, president of Diesel Forward, said, “This is an important strategic move that will benefit our employees, suppliers and our mutual customers by allowing us to leverage joint strengths from coast to coast. Through this affiliation, we will expand our distribution and service reach and capabilities. Our customers will have expanded access to customer service as well as product and technical support. Diesel Forward will now operate four stocking warehouses spanning four time zones across the United States. We will continue to build on our leadership position in automotive, medium and heavy-duty engine and aftertreatment component distribution.”

Chuck Hess, president of H.G. Makelim Co.’s Heavy Duty Division, said, “This is a merger of two highly compatible aftermarket leaders with similar values and philosophies. We both remain committed to ensuring we have the parts our customers need – when they need them – backed by excellent technical and customer service. Breunig added, “Though we will now operate as one company – Diesel Forward Inc. – our customers can depend on the same personal relationships they have experienced in the past. Our customers will continue dealing with the same people and can expect the same quality service they rely on.”
