MEMA’s Ann Wilson Recognized With 2017 Northwood University Education Management Award

The Northwood University Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award is given annually to industry leaders throughout the country who have made noteworthy contributions to education, on any level, inside or outside of the industry.

Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), was honored with an Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award, presented on Oct. 31 during AAPEX.

The Northwood University Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award is given annually to industry leaders throughout the country who have made noteworthy contributions to education, on any level, inside or outside of the industry. Their names and notable activities have been recorded in the awards book that will be distributed throughout the automotive aftermarket industry.

Wilson is based in the MEMA office in Washington, D.C., and has advocated for MEMA’s motor vehicle supplier members in Washington and the states since June 1, 2004.

She works with the association’s Washington office staff in overseeing federal and state legislative and regulatory monitoring, reporting and advocacy. Wilson develops and promotes association members’ views on legislation and regulations affecting the motor vehicle supplier industry.

Wilson’s past advocacy positions have included the Rubber Manufacturers Association and the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA). She served as state legislative counsel for the American Trucking Associations from 1989 to 1991, when she joined the AMSA.

Wilson earned her law degree and the National Order of the Barrister from the Washington University School of Law, St. Louis. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in child advocacy.
