E.R.I. Group Announces Winners Of Richard Miller Education Award

The award, which provides financial assistance and encouragement to individuals who wish to further their education or training, has been presented to applicants from E.R.I. member companies for the past 17 years.

The E.R.I. Group has announced this year’s winners of the Richard Miller Education Award. The award, which provides financial assistance and encouragement to individuals who wish to further their education or training, has been presented to applicants from E.R.I. member companies for the past 17 years.

Ashton Aumen, Brendan Yong, Liz Nguyen-VanNoppen, Marie-Pier Bélanger and Erin Steeves were each presented with a $1,000 check to help further their education. The group congratulates each of them on their success and wishes them well in their chosen vocations.

Aumen of Duncan, British Columbia, is attending her first year of a four-year social sciences program at the University of Victoria. She will be studying to receive a bachelor’s of social sciences, where she hopes to enter her chosen career as a social worker or psychologist.

Yong of Edmonton, Alberta, is enrolled in his third year in the Bachelor of Arts (Recreation, Sport and Tourism) (BARST) program at the University of Alberta. He hopes to earn his degree to further his career.

Nguyen-VanNoppen of Chesterville, Ontario, is entering her first year at Carleton University in the bachelor’s program in the School of Social Work. She wants to pursue her dream of working as a social worker.

Bélanger of Montréal, Québec, is entering the fourth of seven years at the University of Québec in Montreal, majoring in sociology. Her goal is to pursue a career of teaching students with learning difficulties.

Steeves of Shediac, New Brunswick, is enrolled in her fourth year of the biology program in the science department at Mount Allison University. Her goal is to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry.

The E.R.I. Group and the Richard Miller Scholarship Selection Committee say they are pleased to be able to help recognize deserving individual members of the E.R.I. family who are motivated to improve their potential for personal fulfillment and make a meaningful contribution to society.
