RealTruck.com, an online retailer for pickup truck accessories, was recently recognized as a finalist in the third annual Internet Retailer Excellence Awards. The award series highlights outstanding and innovative online retailers and business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce companies for significant strides made in their nominated category over the past year.
Selected by a panel comprised of Internet Retailer senior editors and e-commerce experts, RealTruck joined eBay, Lancôme and Wayfair as a Mobile Commerce finalist.
“Considering the hundreds of nominations Internet Retailer received across the 13 categories, it is an incredible honor to have been selected as a finalist,” said Jeff Vanlaningham, vice president of marketing and people development. “It is validating to receive confirmation of our hard work and efforts. Although we did not win, we are incredibly proud of this victory and humbled to be included alongside companies such as eBay, Lancôme and Wayfair.”
RealTruck submitted a nomination for the Mobile Commerce award after the website completed a significant mobile website upgrade. The two month-long process included a logo redesign, sleeker and more modern graphics, a more prominent vehicle selector that allows the user to view the most applicable products for their vehicle, inclusion of Pay With Amazon, and the redesign of a number of pages, guided by heat mapping and A/B testing data.
After the site redesign the company saw an 11.5 percent increase in the number of users interacting with the vehicle selector, which is the primary navigation piece on the site. Average session duration increased by 10 percent, pages viewed per session increased by 9 percent, add-to-cart rates increased by 10 percent, and conversion rate increased by 7 percent.
