TI Automotive Honored For Innovative Partnership With Bosch And Ford At 2017 Automotive News PACE Awards

The company was awarded for its partnership on the port fuel and direct injection system for the 2017 Ford F-150 and its all-new second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine.

TI Automotive, a leading global supplier of fluid storage, carrying and delivery technology, has been honored for Innovative Partnership at the 2017 Automotive News PACE Awards for the port fuel and direct injection system (PFDI). The system and technology – which is currently deployed on Ford F-150 models with the all-new second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine – were developed through a collaboration between Ford, Bosch and TI Automotive.

The award was presented April 3 at the 2017 Automotive News PACE Awards Ceremony held in Detroit.

“The PFDI system is a first-of-its-kind technology and a prime example of how technical collaboration leads to innovation. TI Automotive is honored to be recognized with Ford and Bosch,” said Bill Kozyra, chairman and CEO of TI Automotive.

The key technical challenge of the project was to bring the two fuel systems (low and high pressure) together in an environment traditionally accommodated by only one. In order to deliver Ford an effective solution, the three companies worked closely together to optimize the packaging and electronic tuning of the two fuel injection systems.
