Epicor To Preview Timesaving New Graphical eCatalog At AAPEX

Next-generation PartExpert e-catalog enables users to identify right replacement parts faster through image-based interface, says Epicor.

EPICOR 2016 - LogoEpicor Software Corp. announced it will preview at this week’s AAPEX in Las Vegas a next-generation, graphical electronic catalog that will enable users of all skill levels to more quickly and easily find the right replacement parts for virtually any repair. Free demonstrations of the new Epicor eCatalog will be available in the company’s AAPEX booth No. 2238 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Developed in collaboration with a group of leading automotive parts and service professionals, the new Epicor graphical interface enables users to more quickly identify and validate desired aftermarket and original equipment (OE) components, as well as all related parts, for a given application, the company says. For example, a user researching steering and suspension components for a late-model foreign nameplate vehicle has the options of displaying an image of the part or a diagram featuring hot links to multiple components within a system. The latter approach enables the user to more quickly visualize the location and design of the part along with other related parts. The hotlinks embedded within each diagram offer single-click access to detailed information – including OE and aftermarket part numbers and product image – for each part.

“This invaluable new interface will extend well beyond the functionality of existing OE graphical catalogs while retaining and refining the best features of our industry standard Epicor LaserCat 3 catalog product,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive, analytics, and content, Epicor Software. “It will help make every user – whether a seasoned veteran or a relative newcomer to the parts and service industry – more effective in any selling situation.”

The new graphical interface is linked to the Epicor PartExpert replacement parts data set, which includes nearly 11 million parts representing approximately 7,800 product lines. Also integrated with the new graphical interface will be each of the value-added product research tools now available with a PartExpert eCatalog package.
